Keel is an iOS workout app built to work without an account and without sending your data to a server. This page explains what data is handled and how.
No account, no server
No sign-up is required to use Keel. Routines, workout sessions, history, progress and settings are stored locally on your iPhone.
Health app
If you allow it, Keel writes your completed workouts to the Health app, so they count toward your Activity rings. Keel never reads any existing health data: the permission requested by iOS is for writing only, not reading.
Calendar
If you ask it to, Keel adds the workout reminders you set to your Calendar, with write-only access.
Bluetooth
If you own a compatible accessory such as the Flic 2, Keel uses your device's Bluetooth to connect it locally and receive start/end-set commands. No data related to this connection leaves your device.
Face ID / Touch ID
If you enable the app lock in Settings, Keel uses your device's biometric authentication (or passcode) to protect access. Keel never has access to the biometric data itself, which is handled entirely by iOS.
Backup and export
You can export a backup (JSON) or your data (CSV) at any time. These files are created only on your explicit request: you choose where to share or keep them, through iOS's own share sheet.
In-app purchases
In-app purchases (app unlock and accessories unlock) are handled entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. Keel never receives or processes payment data.
Advertising and tracking
Keel shows no ads and uses no analytics or tracking of how you use the app.
Deleting your data
You can delete your workout history at any time from the app's Settings. Uninstalling Keel removes all of the app's local data from your device.
